When someone says “What’s with the shirt”
You say “It’s a conversation starter about mental health. This is the flounder and its named after the little anxious fish from the little mermaid”
There is no hidden meaning behind this guy. He is named after the anxious fish and best mate of the little mermaid, Ariel. Initially inspired by the colour in this print, it actually seemed appropriate to make a champion out of the loyal best mate who struggles with fear and uncertainty but somehow, he never lets it stop him. He almost always wants to run and hide, but Flounder has a little magic spark inside that allows him to overcome his fears again and again. It never gets any less scary for the little guy, and the self-doubt is very real, but so is that little rush he gets when he proves to himself that he can do things that scare the hell out of him. Maybe you can relate to Flounder, or maybe you just like the colours, either way, there’s meaning in this print. Excitement sits right on the edge of fear, so if the self-doubt ever creeps in, throw on Flounder and be the fish that recognises fear but never lets it get in his way.
